Glenn Eric "Hurricane" Schwartz (born June 20, 1951) is an American author^[1] and former meteorologist at the NBC-affiliate WCAU in Philadelphia.

Early life and education

Schwartz was born in Philadelphia, one of two children, to Morris, an architect, and Miriam Schwartz. He attended Central High School and then attended Pennsylvania State University to study meteorology, graduating in 1972.^[2]

Career

After graduation, Schwartz began his career at AccuWeather in State College, Pennsylvania.

He gained experience with hurricanes at the National Hurricane Center in Miami, where he worked from 1974 to 1977.
