Piotr Janowski
Piotr Janowski was born in Grudziądz on 5th February At the age of 8, he took up systematic violin education in the Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School in Grudziądz.
In , at the age of 16, he became the first Polish laureate of First Prize at the V Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznan.

He also took first prizes at the following competitions: the Philadelphia Orchestra Competition (1 ), G.B. Dealy (Dallas, Texas, 1 ) and The Naumburg Competition (New York) together with New Arts Trio (, ) (twice). Within one academic year (/70) he covered educational programme of the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the violin class of professor Irena Dubiska, and graduated with an honours degree.
He continued his education under Zino Francescatti’s direction in Curtis Institute of Philadelphia; he was also taught by Ivan Galamian in Juilliard School of Music and Jascha Heifetz at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles).
